Germana Travaglini-van Leeuwen – Midden Limburg
Germana is first and foremost a mother who has experienced first hand the benefits of signing with her daughter Alicia (born April 2008), who still surprises her every day with her signing skills.
Germana was born in Southern Italy in 1975 and has a background in Engineering and Process Improvement, with some teaching experience.
At the end of 2006, after a year spent travelling around the world to follow U2 (her second passion after her family), she moved from Italy to California to live with her Dutch fiancé, whom she married in 2007. They moved back to the Netherlands in 2008, a few months after the birth of Alicia.
She first heard of baby sign language from a friend in California. The experience with her daughter was so interesting and full of surprises that she decided to become a My Smart Hands™ instructor to give more moms the chance to learn how to use this fantastic tool. “Sign language has proven to be of great help in our multilingual family environment, for us it is the meeting point of Italian, Dutch and English, which are all spoken every day in our house.”
Germana is our first My Smart Hands™ instructor in the Netherlands. Her classes are taught in English and Dutch, the study material is in English and the songs are in both English and Dutch. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Germana at germana@mysmarthands.nl
